Buddy Recap: SDCC13

July 30, 2013

After multiple signings and a Stoopid Buddy Stoodios panel hosted by Zach Levi at the always awesome Nerd HQ, your Robot Chicken buddies hit the Adult Swim panel with a very special surprise. If you didn’t make it to the Indigo Room on Friday, then you’re about to kick yourself because Bryan Cranston made a guest appearance — that’s right, HEISENBERG himself! — to talk about Übermansion, a new pilot brought to you by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and Adult Swim that stars Bryan Cranston as an aging superhero living in a mansion with a group other eccentric crime fighters.  Sounds awesome, right?  Well, you can see it now: watch the full pilot HERE and vote to see it on the air.

In addition to this, you all know that we’ve been working on our follow-up to last year’s DC Comics Special and we’re happy to say that it’s currently deep in pre-production.   Entertainment Weekly ran a special Comic Con preview that officially announced the title of the upcoming special, which is — in the Robot Chicken announcer voice — Robot Chicken DC Comic Special II: Villains in Paradise #RCDC2VIP.  Check that article out HERE
If you were down in San Diego over the weekend then you definitely saw the giant Adult Swim Fun House in the Petco Parking lot.  Fully armed with a human-size Robot Chicken, a rubber band maze, Carnival-esque freak shows, and an exit that forced participants to sing karaoke in front of hundreds of onlookers in order to escape — it was certainly an experience to be had.  If you didn’t get to check out this silliness, you can live vicariously through your buddies by checking out the slideshow above.
With that said, it was definitely a great year at Comic Con and we’re so excited to share these bits of information with all of you.  Stay tuned as more information trickles out regarding RC7, RCDC2, Ubermansion, and many other projects we have in the works. Most importantly, we want to send a HUGE special thanks to all of the fans and fellow buddies who came out to the signings and panels. You guys make Comic Con what it is, so thank you for the incredible experience and making it our home for yet another year.
