Stoopid Buddy Stoodios at SVCC and C2E2!

March 21, 2016

Not unlike the late, great Fred Flintstone attempting to attend his bowling league championship while simultaneously going on a drive-in movie date with Wilma, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios just pulled off the impossible: Being in two comic conventions at once!

That’s right. Your intrepid Buddies were doing panels and signing autographs at the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2) while SIMULTANEOUSLY schmoozing on the exhibition floor at the inaugural Silicon Valley Comic Con (SVCC)! Chronologically by time-zone, C2E2 was first, where a hilarious Robot Chicken panel took place for thousands of awesome fans.

The panel was made up of such Robot Chicken all-stars as writer/director Zeb Wells (above left), head writer/executive producer Tom Root (above middle), executive producer John Harvatine IV (above right), writer/director Tom Sheppard (below left), and creator/executive producer Matt Senreich (below middle).

Following the panel, all of those stellar Buddies signed autographs, mingled with the fans, and had an all-around great time while 2,000 miles away, another comic convention was just getting started. In San Jose, CA, SVCC was invaded by Stoodio mascot and everyone’s favorite sentient winnebago: STOOP BOT!

Stoop Bot was a crowd favorite on the exhibition floor, and made hundreds of new friends, big and small…and a little weird and scary.

Elsewhere on the floor, fans were treated to Dillon Markey (animator/inventor/consummate Buddy) doing some stop-motion animation LIVE for anyone who wanted to watch the process! And if that weren’t impressive enough, he was improvising all of the animation! And if THAT weren’t impressive enough, he controlled the camera and the computer with a Nintento Power Glove that he repurposed to be a Bluetooth remote! If that’s a not a nerd-worthy event, I don’t know what is, AND NEITHER DO YOU!

Thank you to all of the Buddies that made it out to these wonderful events to see us in person. It was a joy getting to play with all of you, and we can’t wait to see you again at whatever convention is happening next!
